The DDS TorqueSync pairs an industrial SPMSM AC brushless motor with a 350 VDC internal bus - several times the voltage headroom of typical 48 V wheelbases. That headroom overcomes back-EMF, so torque stays available during rapid direction changes and slew rates stay high.

Hand-built harmonised magnet pairs and distributed-wound stator cores virtually eliminate torque ripple and cogging - the result is silky-smooth rotation with instant, lag-free torque delivery.

Designed to Adapt

Precision mounting rails run along all four sides of the housing, plus dedicated front-mount points for maximum rigidity. Side-mount on a Sim-Lab rig, front-mount for a custom build, or use the wheeldeck - the DDS fits your cockpit, not the other way around.

The slots on top of the base also take a DDU or a light monitor mount, keeping the whole cockpit clean and rigid.

What makes the DDS TorqueSync different from other direct drive wheelbases?

Most direct drive wheelbases run on 48 V. The DDS TorqueSync uses an industrial 350 VDC servo architecture with a 100 kHz control loop, which keeps torque available during rapid direction changes and delivers a much higher slew rate. It was developed together with SOLO Motorcontrollers, is manufactured in Italy at an ISO-certified facility and carries a TÜV SÜD approval mark - and the ecosystem is fully open, with no proprietary lock-ins.

Does it maintain full torque during long endurance races?

Yes. Both models sustain their rated torque - 26 Nm on the DDS26 and 39 Nm on the DDS39 - without thermal fade. The wheelbase was tested over thousands of simulated driving hours at sustained maximum torque, and active fan cooling keeps operating temperatures consistent, so force feedback feels the same on lap 300 as on lap 1.

Which steering wheels can I connect?

Any wheel with a 70 mm M5 bolt pattern - Sim-Lab and GRID Engineering wheels as well as third-party wheels. USB 2.0 data passthrough with a 5 V / 2,500 mA power line supports wheels with USB-C, USB-A or internal connectors, including rims with displays and LEDs, without extra wiring.

Which games are supported?

The DDS TorqueSync supports iRacing and all popular racing titles on the PC platform. Tuning, profiles and firmware updates are handled in the RaceDirector software, with per-sim profiles you can switch instantly.

How difficult is the installation?

Straightforward - the base bolts directly onto Sim-Lab cockpits and mounts via wheeldeck, side-mount or front-mount on other rigs. With the integrated power supply there is just one mains cable to route. Most users go from unboxing to their first lap in about 15 minutes.
