More controls within reach of the wheel

In longer races the wheel's buttons run out fast - pit limiter, lights, wipers, HUD pages and voice chat all compete for the same two thumbs. A button box moves the secondary controls onto a panel you can reach without letting go of the wheel, and a phone mount turns the smartphone you already own into a telemetry dashboard.

The command hub

The BavarianSimTec Control Center packs 20 backlit, tactile pushbuttons and a multifunction AdaptiveBeamTec encoder into a CNC-machined 6061 aluminium body. Three USB-C ports let it double as a USB hub for the rest of the rig, and SimHub drives the lighting. It mounts on a MagicArm with a T-nut for standard aluminium profiles, rotating 360° to sit exactly where your hand expects it.

Phone mounts that do more than hold

The PitPower MagLock holds an iPhone (12 or newer) by MagSafe magnets alone, charges it wirelessly at 15 W and adds an RGB ring driven by SimHub telemetry. The PitPower AutoGrip takes any smartphone: touch the sensor and motorized arms close around the phone, with a 65 W charger included for cable charging. Both sit on articulated MagicArms for exact positioning.

Building it into the rig

Everything here mounts on aluminium profile rigs - plan the positions into your cockpit so buttons and screen are reachable without blocking wheel rotation. Prefer a dedicated telemetry screen over a phone? See our dashboards.

What is a button box in sim racing?

An external panel of buttons, encoders and switches that connects as its own USB controller. You map the functions that do not belong on the wheel - pit limiter, lights, wipers, HUD pages, voice chat - so the wheel's buttons stay free for driving-critical controls.

Do button boxes work with any wheelbase and sim?

Yes - a button box is an independent USB device, so the wheelbase brand does not matter, and every major sim maps it like any other controller. PC only.

Can I use my phone as a sim racing dashboard?

Yes - SimHub streams live telemetry to a phone screen, so a mounted smartphone shows gears, delta, fuel and tyre data like a dedicated display. The PitPower MagLock even charges the phone wirelessly while it works, so the battery is full when you leave the rig.

MagLock or AutoGrip - which phone mount?

By phone: the MagLock is MagSafe-only (iPhone 12 or newer) and rewards it with magnet-only mounting and 15 W wireless charging. The AutoGrip grips any smartphone - Android included - with motorized arms and charges over cable from the included 65 W charger.

How do these mount to the rig?

All three use the MagicArm system: an articulated arm with a ball head and T-nut that drops into the slot of any standard aluminium profile. Position it once - within reach, outside the wheel's rotation - and the ball head handles fine adjustment.
