Milled from one block, closed from the back

The Alpha is a 295 mm GT wheel CNC milled from a single block of 6061 aluminium, grip inlays included, so nothing flexes under a strong direct drive base. Two shells bolt together from the rear, which leaves the front face free of screw heads - just black anodising and laser-engraved markings.

It weighs 1,350 g with all six paddles - shifters, butterfly shifters and dual clutch.

Grips cut for the thumb

The 60A anti-static silicone grips carry the same 13-degree slope cut as the Delta family: the thumb sits on top of the grip rather than beside it, so the button field stays in reach through a whole stint. The grips are sized for larger hands without looking bulky and hold the same with or without gloves.

Multi-Link Selector

The central encoder selects one of eight modes, and the mode decides what the encoder and the linked thumb encoder adjust. Three physical inputs become 33 - 8 modes with two values each, plus the selector itself.

🔵 Rotate the thumb encoder (2) for the second value of that mode

Example: pick the VOL mode, then the central encoder sets overall volume and the thumb encoder sets in-game volume - no menu, no looking down.

Rev lights and flag lights come ready to use with car-specific shift points for iRacing and ACC out of the box; other sims and your own profiles run through SimHub.

Twelve buttons, five encoders, two switches

Twelve RGB tactile buttons at 500 gf with four LEDs each, so the backlight is even and a press is never in doubt. Two high-detent thumb encoders sit where the thumbs land, and the two 7-way switches are stacked in a tower so both are reachable without moving the hand.

With AdaptiveBeamTec and the Multi-Link Selector on top, the three front encoders cover what a dozen fixed encoders would - without the clutter.

112 LEDs, your colours

Every one of the 112 LEDs is individually addressable in SimHub. Load a community colour scheme or animation, or build your own Alpha profile from scratch - button colours, rev pattern, flag behaviour and the startup sequence are all yours to set.

Made in Regensburg

BavarianSimTec is a small team of sim racers in Regensburg, Bavaria, who design, machine and hand-assemble every wheel themselves. The Alpha was their first wheel and it set the pattern for everything since - form follows function, and every element has to earn its place on the wheel.

Good to know

  • No display on this wheel. Want a screen? Choose the Delta PRO.
  • Quick release or hub not included. The backcase has a 70 mm pattern with three threaded holes; for hubs that need six holes or a 50.8 mm pattern add the BavarianSimTec Mounting Plate. Screws may enter the wheel body by 4 mm at most.
  • USB pass-through means the wheel's data travels through the wheelbase - the base still needs its own data cable to the PC. On a Simagic Alpha EVO with the QR-A adapter that is the base's second Type-C cable. On Simucube 2, Simucube 3 and Fanatec the coiled cable runs from the wheel to the PC.
  • 2-year warranty handled by GPerformance - in a warranty case we arrange and pay the shipping.
