Colour-code your controls

On the black faceplate, the backlight of each of the 14 automotive-grade buttons does more than look good: give pit functions one colour, lights and wipers another, and you find them by colour before you read a single label. The caps are two-piece and laser-etched, so a new label is a matter of pulling one cap and pressing on another. A cap set and a sticker sheet come in the box.

Adjust by feel, keep your eyes on the track

Each of the two 12-position rotaries clicks into a firm detent per step, so TC, ABS or engine map can be changed and counted without a glance down. Brake bias and other mid-lap tweaks sit on the four thumb encoders inside the grips; the two 7-way joysticks move through menus, rotate both ways and press in.

Mapping is free in Ascher Control Center - handy if you switch between several wheels - and analog axes are calibrated on the wheel itself, no extra software needed.

Shifters trusted by Verstappen Sim Racing

The Ultimate Black Edition is in use at Verstappen Sim Racing. Its Gen6 magnetic double shifters sit on preloaded ball bearings for zero play, with a damped click that stays quiet on late-night sessions. The two analog clutch paddles take an electronically calibrated bite point and a clutch curve of your choice - progressive, degressive, S-shaped or fully custom, set separately for left and right.

Motorsport hardware, stealth finish

The Black Edition shares its hardware with the McLaren Artura Ultimate - the same 300 mm closed rim, rubber grips, buttons and paddle assemblies Ascher Racing builds from the GT4 car's components, with electronics developed together with Renvale. The difference is the look: black anodized aluminium throughout and no McLaren decals, for cockpits that keep a single colour.
