Aluminium profile or tube frame cockpit?
Aluminium profile is the sim racing standard for a reason: modular T-slot construction means any hardware bolts anywhere, positions adjust in minutes and the rig grows with your equipment. Tube frames look cleaner and cost less but fix you to predrilled positions. For direct drive torque and load cell braking, profile rigidity is the safer long-term investment.
Which cockpit handles strong direct drive bases and stiff brakes?
The rule: the stronger the hardware, the heavier the cockpit class. Up to ~15-17 Nm and moderate braking, a GT1 Evo performs beautifully. For 25+ Nm bases and 100+ kg brake forces, step up to the P1X Pro or P1X Ultimate - flex anywhere in the chain eats the detail you paid for.
Will my wheelbase and pedals bolt onto these cockpits?
Almost certainly - aluminium profile cockpits mount hardware through T-slots, so any bolt pattern finds a home; wheelbases attach via the wheel deck or optional front/side mounts, pedals on the adjustable pedal deck. Is a seat included with a cockpit?
Check the specific product - cockpits are often sold as the chassis alone so you can pick a seat that fits your body and driving style. Our seat collection covers both reclinable comfort seats and fixed racing shells, all mounting via standard side brackets.
How do I mount monitors?
Preferably on a separate monitor mount - a freestanding stand keeps display vibrations away from the chassis when a strong direct drive base is working. Integrated (cockpit-mounted) options exist for tighter spaces; both single and triple configurations are available.
