Force, not travel: what makes a handbrake worth mounting

In a rally or drift car the handbrake is an analogue control - how hard you pull decides how much the rear locks. Basic gaming handbrakes read lever position; every model in this collection reads force. That is what makes inputs repeatable: the same pull always produces the same rotation, hairpin after hairpin, and your muscle memory has something solid to build on.

Loadcell or hydraulic

Loadcell models - the Sim-Lab XB1 (150 kg sensor), Heusinkveld Handbrake (120 kg) and Simagic TB-1 (100 kg) - measure pull force directly and pair it with two-stage elastomer resistance that mimics the pressurisation of a real brake circuit. The Simagic TB-RS goes a step further and uses a real hydraulic damper, reproducing the 1:1 feel of a rally car's hydraulic handbrake, with nine elastomers combining into four stiffness settings.

Mounting and platform

All models are PC only and mount on aluminium profile rigs. A handbrake pulled at rally forces needs the same rigidity as a loadcell brake pedal, so plan it into your cockpit rather than a flexing desk edge. Rally driving pairs naturally with a sequential from our shifters collection, and force-based braking continues at your feet with loadcell pedals.
