PC compatibility

Most of the high-performance sim racing equipment we carry is built for the PC platform. Here is what that means and why.

What “PC only” means

A product marked PC only! connects to and works exclusively with a Windows PC. It is not compatible with PlayStation (PS4 / PS5) or Xbox (One / Series X|S) consoles. You connect it to your PC - usually with a single USB cable - install the manufacturer’s software, and you are ready to drive.

Why are these products PC only?

Consoles run closed ecosystems. To work on a PlayStation or Xbox, a device must include an official licensed authentication chip built into the wheelbase or main unit. Many premium sim racing manufacturers deliberately skip console licensing so they can deliver the best possible force feedback, the most open firmware, and the widest cross-brand compatibility - none of which the console certification process allows. The result is hardware designed first and foremost for the openness and power of the PC.

What you need

•  A Windows PC (desktop or laptop)
• A free USB port
• The manufacturer’s driver / configuration software (free download)

That is all - no additional adapter or console license is required.
